This is Emily, and if you zoom in a bit, you can see her tooth Taco. It’s the canine right there in the top right corner. Recently, Taco and Emily started on a new venture – braces! After two months, Emily and Taco have a great routine and they wanted to share what a day in their life is like.
6:00 a.m. – The alarm goes off and it’s time to get ready for the day! What’s that smell? Morning breath!
6:05 a.m. – Ah, nothing like a good brushing to clear the sleep (and morning breath) away.
9:32 a.m. – It’s time for our morning snack, an apple. Now, with these shiny new braces, we have to eat apples a little differently. Instead of biting in tooth-first, Mom was nice enough to cut up the apple into slices earlier this morning.
12:13 p.m. – Lunchtime. What do we have today? A turkey sandwich with cheese, strawberries and red peppers – delicious!
12:48 p.m. – Gotta run to the bathroom and check for leftovers in our wires. Good thing Emily keeps floss and floss threaders in her bag; we’ve got some stowaways at my neighbor’s space.
3:40 p.m. – It’s check-up day! Bubon Orthodontics is changing our wires and giving us new rubber band colors. It’s May, so let’s go with a light green now that spring is in the air!
8:37 p.m. – Time for our post-dinner brush, floss, and rinse. Even though Emily cut up the steak into small pieces, a few leftovers can be found in our wires. It’s important to floss at least once a day to loosen food debris and plaque. But sometimes you’ll have to do it more than once, like Emily and Taco did, when food gets stuck.
Thank you, Emily and Taco, for giving us a look into your day! Care for your teeth and orthodontic appliances are easy to do at home and school. If appliances are not taken care of with regular visits to your orthodontist, it could prolong your treatment.
