What is orthodontics?
Orthodontics is a specialized form of dentistry focused on correcting misaligned teeth and jaws to improve oral health and aesthetics. It involves the use of appliances, braces or clear aligners to straighten teeth.
When should a child visit an orthodontist?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children first visit an orthodontist around the age of seven. However, orthodontic treatment is not exclusive to just children and teens! Age is just a number and there is no age limit on orthodontic treatment. We’ve seen patients from age 7-97!
Should I visit my dentist during treatment?
Yes! Continue seeing your general dentist every six months for cleanings and dental checkups.
How does orthodontic treatment work?
Orthodontic treatment applies consistent pressure to move misaligned teeth into proper alignment. Straight smiles are achieved by using braces or clear aligners, which gradually shift the teeth over time.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
As we design a customized treatment plan for you, we also create a custom timeline for your orthodontic treatment! On average, treatment time is between 12-18 months.
Do I need a referral?
Nope! You can schedule a complimentary consultation online at any of our offices. During this appointment, you’ll meet our experienced team to discuss your concerns. Together, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.
